Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I attended Michigan State University looking to pursue a career in the medical field. I started researching my options and discovered Medical Device Sales. I received my B.A. in Psychology this past spring and decided to attend MSC shortly after.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I have always been interested in the medical field as well as sales. I enjoyed getting to work with medical professionals and having the opportunity to earn uncapped commissions was appealing.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I learned about MSC from Medreps.com
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I knew if I attended MSC, it would make my resume? stand out more and hopefully allow me to land a job.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
I knew I made the right decision the night I arrived in Colorado. I met with my classmates and we all had an immediate connection. We had similar goals and experiences, which put me at ease.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
I used our role-play scenario training the most during these interviews. I was given a short scenario and asked to sell my pad folio with only 5 minutes to prepare.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
It?s a great way to learn about the industry and whether or not it is for you. You also gain experiences and skills that can be directly applied to your job. Even if a student were to decide Medical Sales is not for them, everything you learn can be very useful in other industries.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
Right after graduating from college, I began applying to medical sales positions with no results. Fortunately, I had planned on attending MSC three months after graduation.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
Yes, I was worried that the program was too good to be true. Also, because I didn?t know anyone who had previously attended the college I didn?t have any references.
Explain what your interview process was like.
My interview process was very intense! I was first put through a meet and greet interview with 30 other candidates. From there I had 3 one-on-one interviews with my RM. I also had to do a personality assessment. My final interview was at the corporate headquarters where I had 6 interviews with the heads of each department.
What will you do in your new job?
I will be an Associate Sales Representative for Stryker Medical?s Patient Care Division. I will work under three account managers and assist them with deliveries, trainings, and surveys.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Getting to watch myself on video and practicing role-play scenarios was extremely helpful. It made me very confident in my interviews and it will continue to benefit me in my career. The role-play scenarios allowed me to make mistakes and analyze myself without jeopardizing a sale.
