Tell me a little about your background.

I was born and raised in Mesquite, TX. I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology from Steven F. Austin State University in May of 2013. I attended MSC from August to October 2013, and was hired on with Accumed in October.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I became interested medical sales while studying in college. My uncle is an orthopedic surgeon in Dallas, TX and he steered me in the direction of becoming a sales rep.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

My hiring manager encouraged me to attend the program prior to being hired.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I knew it would give me the skills I needed to land my job as well as give me a head start in the field.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I had observed six surgical cases in the O.R. and had basic medical terminology. It was a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the industry

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

The ability to take my company?s products, find their key features, and showcase that through short/long calls really helped during my interview.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

It will give you a head start and provide you the skills necessary to be successful in the industry.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I had my first interview with Accumed in June of 2013. I had an opportunity to work along side three individuals who graduated from MSC. The hiring manager thought it would be good for me to gain more industry knowledge, especially the sales aspect. After completing the course I was hired on.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

Not really. I was nervous about the role-plays and that my class was all women.

Explain what your interview process was like.

I had six interviews that began with basic personal information and then moved into me demonstrating my sales skills in both long calls sales plays.

What will you do in your new job?

I am an Associate Sales Representative working in the Houston Medical Center. I will mostly be helping to cover cases and meeting doctors until I am assigned my own territory.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable things I learned at MSC were the value of research, and how to comfortably and confidently present the information during a conversation.
