Tell me a little about your background.
My background consisted mainly of eight years of radiology in hospital and a medical clinic settings. I had a good clinical background but zero sales experience.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
The earning potential and variety of work is what interested me and attracted me to the industry.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
MSC was recommended to me from the owner of a spine company.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I researched MSC, and after doing so I felt that it would deliver the best training that would ultimately prepare me for medical sales opportunities that otherwise I would not be qualified for.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
It was a great 10 weeks. It was pretty rigorous at times and I felt that helped prepare us as much as anything. The friends and knowledge I gained are beyond valuable and I wouldn?t trade them for anything.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
I used the sales approaches we learned that would allow me to gain favorable attention while building rapport and trust with doctors.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
To gain crucial knowledge of medical sales or biologics, or both, to prepare him/her for their desired sales job.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
For approximately a year. It was not a very enjoyable experience as I was getting very few interviews and only to find out that I needed some experience in sales to advance any further
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
I wouldn?t say fears necessarily but maybe a level of uncertainty that came from not knowing exactly what the future held.
Explain what your interview process was like.
It was actually a very short and pleasant process. I provided the company with my resume. They called me on a Friday afternoon and we set up an interview. After reviewing my resume and going through their interview process, they extended a job offer.
What is your current job like?
It?s a salary + commission position selling DME and respiratory products.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
I just know now that I wish I had pursued a medical sales job sooner.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
The ability to execute an effective sales call in a short period of time.
