Tell me a little about your background.

Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Michigan State University. I then worked as an Exercise Physiologist in both cardiac rehabilitation and cardiac stress testing.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

The field gave me the opportunity to combine my clinical background with business. Being able to be in the OR is very interesting to me and is an honor. Also, with medical sales there is more opportunity to grow and you get out of it what you put into it. It?s a very rewarding field for so many reasons.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned through one of my patients in cardiac rehabilitation. Two of his sons attended MSC, so I reached out to them to find out more.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

The encouragement of the two reps I reached out to as well as the encouragement of my friends and family to do so.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

It was a great experience. My instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were there to help us, the students, and took the time to work with us on subjects that we needed more help on. Also, I made lifelong friends from all over the country, who made my time inside and outside of class something that I will never forget.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

I used selling techniques that were taught to us by Jim in the final week, how to talk and approach surgeons, MD Rep Track, who to impress, surgical techniques and procedures and finally ?closing? all interviews with a question about the next step or for the job itself.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If they want to get into medical device sales and either do not have a strong sales background or clinical knowledge. MSC gives you the basis of both worlds. Zero Fee Recruiting and your hard work land you the interviews, but MSC prepares you with the knowledge to get the job.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

This was my first attempt to get into the field. I knew I wanted to get into the industry and Medical Sales College gave me that chance.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

Yes, I feared that I was investing a lot of money for something that still was not a guarantee.

Explain what your interview process was like.

I had multiple phone and in person interviews with several large companies. However, this process was smooth and comfortable. I was contacted via phone by Jason during which we set up an interview. He had received my info through Zerofee Recruiting. I then had the interview with Jason and Todd, the territory managers. It was from there that I met the sales manager for coffee. Later, I attended a state of the art educational cadaver lab intended for resident practice. A week later I met with the president of Pinnacle Inc. and received my offer later that day.

What is your current job like?

Today was only my first day. I did mostly paperwork but also got to observe a cadaver lab. Later in the week I will be shadowing a senior rep.
