Tell me a little about your background.

10 years experience in district sales and operations management.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I?ve always been drawn to the science behind orthopedic implant designs and how these designs impact the biomechanics of the body. I wanted the opportunity to interact and work with surgeons to positively impact people?s well being.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Through my friend Zach Frank who also attended the school.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

My friend?s review of the school and I wanted a strong foundation heading into interviews.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I had a phenomenal experience at MSC! I feel like I learned as much as I could in 6 weeks and was pleasantly surprised with the education. My instructors were great and it was a pleasure spending time with my classmates.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

Being able to generally speak to anatomy, surgical techniques, selling strategies and devices helped a ton. I would have been lost without taking the course.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Gain a strong foundation of anatomy, biomechanics, devices and surgical technique. The placement services are incredible as well.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn?t try and get into the industry, until after taking MSC.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

I was worried about spending my time and money and then having a hard time finding a job.

Explain what your interview process was like.

I had 5 of the largest orthopedic companies contact me within 3 weeks of graduating without filling out one application. They all found me through elite Med recruiting or directly from MSC. I had so many interviews going on simultaneously, that it was difficult to schedule them without overlap. The process was very lengthy with a few of the companies, as I had as many as 6 interviews with one of them! In the end, I had multiple offers and chose where I thought I fit in the best.

What is your current job like?

I am less than a month in, but it is very demanding and also exciting. I am spending a lot of time in the OR, learning the techniques of multiple doctors and instrumentation. Current students- I would recommend studying the anatomy inside and out and learning the steps involved with particular procedures as best you can. Take advantage of your time in class, because once you are in the field you won?t have nearly as much time to study.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Anatomy/surgical techniques/instrumentation
