Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
My passion has always been medicine for as long as I can remember. As a young adult, I decided to challenge my love for science and earned a Bachelor?s Degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I?ve known my whole life I wanted a career in healthcare, however it wasn?t until after my freshman year of college that I decided medical sales was the avenue I wanted to pursue. A family friend of mine who is an Orthopaedic Surgeon originally planted the seed of medical sales in my head. After doing a little bit of research on my own, I decided this would be a great fit for me.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I stumbled across Medical Sales College from an internship job posting they had on medreps.com. Having never heard of it before I was curious, so I found the Medical Sales College website and was very intrigued.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
Jumping around on the website I landed on the ?placed graduates? page and saw someone I had gone to college with. Knowing that she now works for a very reputable company, I immediately called her up and picked her brain about her experience with Medical Sales College. The very next day I applied and the rest is history!
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
MSC is one of the most brilliant organizations I?ve had the pleasure to be a part of. The medical sales industry is one that you have to be present in to really grasp what its all about. The only issue with that is most device companies want seasoned candidates who are already active in the field. In other words, you have to be in it to learn it, and you have to have already learned it to be in it. This is where MSC comes in, they take those of us who are green and willing to learn, and give us the tools for success to break into the industry.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
Too Long!?I graduated college summer of 2017 and by April of 2018 I had applied to numerous med device companies with no luck.
Explain what your interview process was like.
I was fortunate enough to make it through the interview process with two very reputable companies and the interviewing process was night and day difference between the two. The first one was a very long 2-month total process. I had at least 10 phone interviews, a personality assessment, 2 out of state, and 2 in state interviews before I received an offer. For the other position I interviewed for, I had 3 in-person interviews, spent a day covering cases, and received a verbal offer all within a week. There was a lot of waiting and exercising patience, a lot of preparation, countless miles, but a very rewarding process none the less.
What is your current job like?
Nothing like I ever imagined. I get to work along side some of the greatest neurosurgeons and represent a company whose technology I witness change peoples? lives every day. It?s truly a blessing to have such a rewarding job and I am so thankful MSC aided me in the process to make this my reality.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
I wish I had known about MSC sooner!! ?Along with that, all of the different avenues medical sales has to offer. There are so many different opportunities in this industry, so congratulations to those of you who have jumped right in and already clicked ?apply? ?and to those of you who have not, what are you waiting for?!
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
MSC taught me so much about all of the technical basics for sure, but what I really took from the program was how to sell myself. The importance of how to carry conversation with potential employers and what positions an entry level candidate would be considered for are not exactly written in text, because there is no step-by-step formula. Medical Sales College is so much more than your typical xyz college course. The entire admin team really made teaching us the ins and outs of the industry a top priority, real life applications/scenarios make a world of difference preparing you for this field of work.
