Senior Director of Spine
Malcolm’s medical device career spans over 15 years, and includes both product marketing and sales roles for major companies such as Codman & Shurtleff (A Johnson & Johnson company) and Conmed Linvatec. Malcolm broke into the industry as a marketing product manager, where he had the opportunity to manage several multimillion-dollar product categories including image guidance systems for neurosurgery, spine, ent, cranial access, aneurysm clips, electrocautery products, and knee arthroscopy. His role included a close collaboration with training departments and sales management teams to direct, create and execute the training curriculum for new hires and provide ongoing training for both direct and indirect sales networks.
Malcolm also had the unique opportunity to experience nine rewarding years of spine and biologics sales for multiple companies. As a direct territory manager for SpineFrontier, he was responsible for achieving his own sales quotas, but also hiring and training distributors. He then spent two and a half years as a contracted independent distributor, representing multiple companies, such as K2M, SpineWave, Trans1, Amendia, VTI, RTI where he was exposed to a multitude of products and surgical approaches. Malcolm was also part of an exclusive distribution team for Globus Medical as a Sr. Spine Sales Consultant, managing multimillion-dollar accounts and providing surgical consultation to multiple key surgeons. During his time with Globus, he was exposed to a variety of major spine disorders including trauma, oncology, deformity & degenerative along with approaches such as extreme lateral oblique, minimally invasive, total disc arthroplasty, laminoplasty, and corpectomies.
Malcolm has an extremely diverse background of product management mixed with spine and biologics sales. Along with his vast experience, he brings a natural ability to teach, mentor and inspire people. He has a passion for educating others and will be a valuable asset as a Senior Director of Spine for Medical Sales College.
