Tell me a little about your background.

My first job out of college was working as a Sales Representative at Emgenex in Little Rock, AR. I had a difficult time finding a medical sales position in Texas with my lack of experience so I decided to grow my resume through sales experience. I moved to Austin, TX and accepted a sales role at GoDaddy and was promoted to Sales Manager a year later. After I got more sales experience I decided to apply to MSC to help my chances of getting back into the medical device industry.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I have always been enamored with science and helping people. After working in sales for almost three years, combining all three passions led to medical device sales!

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned about MSC through a friend who previously completed the course.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

After speaking with various MSC graduates, I decided attending MSC would help me break into the industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Absolutely phenomenal. Rick was very thorough and his antidotes helped set the right expectation for the industry.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

MSC offers great basic knowledge of the industry and what to expect when you get into the industry. I completed the ORT program but accepted a position in Spine. While I will have to teach myself everything I need to know about Spine, the information I learned in OTR has helped tremendously!

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Three LONG years!

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

The interview process was long! I mainly applied to positions in Los Angeles?it is very difficult to get an interview when you are not living in the city of that position! The most valuable thing I learned was from Logan?always follow up. Don?t be afraid to follow up and keep in touch with multiple people at the company to show you really want the position.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Honestly, nothing. The admissions office at MSC set the right expectations for the program!

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable piece of information I learned was to make myself indispensable. Do everything I can to show I am committed to making the team successful and hit our goals.
