Tell me a little about your background.

Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology. Internship at V5 Movement and Cognition Lab.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

While completing my internship in California I was approached by a friend and asked if I would be interested in an associate trauma position with Depuy Synthes. I interviewed, did not get the job, but looked into Medical Sales College as a way to break into the industry.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I called my dad?s cousin who works for DJO in their marketing division. He told me there were young kids like me who were having success with Medical Sales College. I went on Google, made a phone call, and the rest is history.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

The job placement stats were convincing. I needed a boost to get my career started.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Small class size. M-F, 7am-4pm. Lecture consisted of power point presentations. As students, we presented on different technologies, there were hands on labs.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

I wouldn?t say MSC qualifies you as an expert in the field but it gives you a good feel for what you can expect as well as a good foundation staring out. MSC has a great network and recruiting service. Employers have had good success with MSC graduates in the past which is paving the path for future MSC graduates to find employment.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

The process for getting into the MSC from start to finish was about 2 weeks.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

These two guys who run their own distributorship, Mark and Jon, found me through MSC. It helped that I was a local guy. They asked if I could meet them at a hospital, we met and chatted for about 30 minutes. They gave me a call about a week later with a verbal offer.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Everyone is looking for B to B sales experience. Getting hired is a lot easier if you can put that you have sales experience on your resume.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Getting a feel for what employers expect from new associates. MSC gives you a good foundation to go out into the field and learn the job duties quickly.
