Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
Graduated from the University of South Florida with my bachelors degree in Health Science. Prior to attending the MSC, I was a Health Communication Research Assistant and shadowed a top GI surgeon at Advent Health Tampa. It was during both of these experiences that I discovered my passion for working in the Medical Device Sales industry.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
Since I was little, I?ve always been interested in working in the medical field to help improve patient outcomes. My mom had cancer when I was 7 years old and there is nothing more rewarding to me than working in the medical device industry where I am contributing to help patients get back to their active lives. Naturally, I love building meaningful relationships and the opportunity to earn an uncapped salary was attractive to me.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
My friend from college attended the MSC before me and highly suggested I apply if I wanted to break into the competitive industry without b2b sales experience.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I decided to attend MSC because of all the positive results I?ve seen in the program such as the high placement rating after graduating from the program. I knew I had to go for it and learn as much as I could and become prepared to crush competitive interviews.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
Amazing! My instructors were knowledgeable mentors and truly passionate about teaching. My classmates were great, it was such a great learning experience being around a diverse group of people who were all hard working and dedicated to break into the industry just like me.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I only tried to get into the industry after graduating from MSC.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
I will be riding along with my head rep who is training me and essentially shadowing him on the job while he?s in cases, giving demo presentations, and restocking sets. At the beginning, I take home sets to study - the learning never stops. I am also getting to know everyone we work with and trying to get through vendor credentialing as soon as possible so that I may be allowed to enter the OR as soon as possible which I am very excited about!
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
LinkedIn is a powerful interview tool! I reached out to so many managers in Seattle which was my target job market and asked to for advice. Some even offered me interviews which was a great learning experience prior to breaking into my career.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Learning how to prepare a solid business plan for an interview was absolutely essential. All of the technical knowledge, product presentations, and sales calls demo practice helped me understand the associate sales rep roles I was applying for after graduating. Otherwise, I honestly would have been completely clueless.
