Jessica Norton
Vice President of Orthobiologics & Regenerative Medicine
Jessica has over 13-years of experience in peri-operative registered nursing and comes to MSC with 6+ years of experience in medical device and orthobiologics industry training and leadership. As a peri-operative nurse, Jessica has an expanded knowledge and understanding of anatomy and disease states, the peri-operative environment, how to navigate the nuances of the OR, and selling to Physicians and hospitals based on science and clinical benefit.
Jessica?s foremost area of expertise is in the biologic treatment of degenerative conditions in both major joints and spine. Her industry experience has centered firmly around the use of autologous cells and platelets for minimally invasive treatment of orthopedic injury and surgical application of cell-based bone grafts. She began her career in regenerative medicine and orthobiologics when she directed an autologous regenerative medicine injection practice that grew to be a 4-million-dollar business in its first 18 months. In this role she directed all aspects of the regenerative medicine injection procedures including patient education, assisting with invasive and minimally invasive procedures, clinical research, patient follow-up, and community and peer education/outreach.
In 2013, Jessica became the Director of Training and Development for an orthopedic and spine distributorship that covered most of the central and western United States. In that role, Jessica?s primary focus was providing comprehensive education to a staff of 20 in orthobiologics grafting and regenerative medicine injection treatments, and driving sales of autologous regenerative injection therapies for their entire western U.S. territory.
Through a series of strategic acquisitions in 2016, Jessica transitioned into the role of Medical Education Manager-West and, later, Sr. Manager of Market Development and Field Training for a multi-million-dollar, multi-national, pureplay orthobiologics company, with a staff of 100+. This company provides autologous therapy solutions and allograft and synthetic bone grafting options both domestically and internationally. Jessica?s primary role was in comprehensive staff education, particularly for those staff who were brand new to the company and/or new to the complex field of orthobiologics. She spent a great deal of time in the field training distributors/staff, taking surgeon meetings, and supporting 1st cases. Jessica wore many hats for the company including her work in partnering with the regulatory, marketing, and PhD teams to create a fully digital mobile training platform used for companywide product training and sales enablement.
Seeking to shed the sales role altogether, Jessica took another opportunity to work with a Physician founded orthopedic medical device startup, helping to refine their training materials to be completely digital, and to remix their promotional presence online.
Through her numerous connections in orthobiologics, Jessica was recruited to the Medical Sales College in 2019 as an addition to their growing Regenerative Medicine & Orthobiologics Education Department. Jessica rounds out this department with not only her experience in nursing, but also her expanded understanding and experience in autologous cell therapies.
