Tell me a little about your background.

Have a bachelors degree in biology and a minor in psychology. Have been working in the hospitality industry as a bartender for almost 4 years.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I love that this career is constantly evolving! I?ve always wanted to go into the health field and when I found out about this career it was the best of both worlds-customer service & building relationships while still helping and contributing to better patient outcome.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Was doing research online and came across the MSC home page. I had originally applied to the San Diego program in September 2018 but postponed it. After doing more research I then applied to the internship at the end of year of 2018.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

The internship- it opened my eyes to how MSC really does help students with all kinds of backgrounds get interviews with medical device companies.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I took the 8-week sports med program in San Diego with Jeff and Thiana as my instructors. The training was very useful and some of it very challenging. I most enjoyed the hands on opportunities in the lab.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

The connections MSC has can really help you get that initial interview with huge named medical device companies.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I think around 2 years off and on applying.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I found out about the position through MSC placement service coordinator in October. Reached out to the regional manager on LI- had an initial phone screen interview. Then had a phone interview with the TM of San Diego. Met both the TM & regional manager for a f2f interview at a Starbucks. Had a f2f interview with the principal distributor. Then had a ride along with the TM- then a week later verbal offer.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

All of the little things- utilizing LI as much as you can and former MSC grads and your instructors. Connections, connections, connections.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable piece of information I learned from MSC is to have patience and to be persistent but not annoying when reaching out and following up for jobs/ interviews.
