Tell me a little about your background.

I have a degree in Healthcare Administration and had initially planned on working as a hospital administrator after graduation. I had a few different jobs and an internship at local hospitals while I was in school, which exposed me to different career paths in the medical field, including being a device representative. These experiences helped convince me to pursue a career in medical sales.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I wanted to get into medical sales because I have always had an interest in medicine and wanted to find a job in the industry that would best suit me. I enjoy learning about the newest technologies and procedures and was excited about an opportunity to be a part of it. I also knew that I would welcome the challenge of meeting sales goals and building relationships. Medical sales seemed to offer the best fit for my skill set and interests, as well as an excellent opportunity to start a rewarding career.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

A friend of mine attended Medical Sales College and had a positive experience, so I began to look at what MSC had to offer while I was finishing up my undergraduate degree and looking at potential jobs.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I ultimately decided to attend MSC because I was getting almost no positive feedback from the medical sales jobs that I had applied to. Most stated that I did not have the proper experience, most notably a lack of outside sales experience. I saw that many students who attended MSC were able to get jobs in the industry even if they didn?t have prior sales experience.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

There was a lot to learn from the classes at MSC, but I was able to complete everything and score well on the exams and presentations. I really appreciated the insight that our instructors were able to give, as they had all worked as medical sales reps before. It was very helpful to learn about the industry through the eyes of someone who has been through it all.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Medical Sales College really is a great way to break into the industry. It is a big commitment, but if you are serious about getting a job as a medical sales rep, then it will be worth it.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

3-4 months

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I was contacted by the company after they saw my profile on ZeroFee Recruiting and had an initial phone interview. I was then invited for my first in person interview. Following that, I had a lunch meeting and then two more interviews. I met different members of the management and leadership team at each interview, including the Director of Sales and President. I was offered the position the day after the last interview. The process took about 3 weeks.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I think I had reasonable expectations before attending MSC. I knew that it would be a lot of work but also a rewarding experience, and so far it has been.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

MSC did a very good job of preparing me for interviews. I was confident when I walked into the interviews because it was covered so in depth during the last week of the program. I already had the answers to most of the questions that were asked, so this gave me the confidence to really present myself the way that I wanted to.
