Tell me a little about your background.

I am a former all-conference 3 sport college athlete (football, track, baseball), Quarterback Specialist at TNT Academy, youth mentor with Prove it Athletics and Big Brother Big Sister, and a father of two.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

Medical Sales allows me to combine my passion for competition and number-based accomplishments with my passion for healthcare, helping others, and being depended on.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Online

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

Kim Smalley was completely transparent which was great because I had 1000 questions for her upon my interview with MSC. I was impressed by the job placement percentage and respected Kim for giving me an awesome understanding of the industry and the grind that it requires to be successful. Scott's webinar was also VERY helpful. I was able to see the contacts MSC had in my area and I knew that if I came to MSC, showed my work ethic and drive, and had access to these contacts, I would have much less of an issue landing an interview. This would give me the chance to show a manager who I am and what I bring to the table outside of real experience, which are things you cannot teach. This was important because getting past the initial application process was almost impossible until MSC gave me access to people I could reach out to, thus increasing my chances of landing an interview.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Dr. Perns is a phenomenal and passionate teacher who went out of his way to help me understand this industry. Being able to genuinely relay this information in my interviews impressed many hiring managers. I really enjoyed Dr. Perns' passion for teaching because it matched my passion for learning. Andrea was great because she required a lot from me as a student which gave me a great understanding of what my life would look like as a rep. She also pointed out some flaws of mine during our class debate. I enjoy learning about my weaknesses that successful professionals like herself can see because it allows me to attack them with the goal of improvement. It was her criticism that caused me to buy a book and subscribe to a podcasts that help me with that.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If you come in and do your part, MSC will give you access to hiring managers with a keen understanding of the industry significantly increasing your chances of landing an interview. Actually landing the job is on the student's ability to prepare for an interview and relay their experience at MSC and in life, but MSC provides invaluable understanding and connections.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

One year.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

My hiring manager found my Zero Fee profile, we had two phone calls, I met with the owner, and was hired within a week.

What is your current job like?

Amazing. I enjoy every part of it so far. There are a lot of driving and long days as I am trying to master our products. I am going to be handling cases alone two weeks from now, but right now I'm going to cases with different team members and learning that way.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The understanding that this job is a grind initially and not worth my time if I'm not willing to put in the time, deal with failure, be a self starter, and outwork my competition.
