Tell me a little about your background.

I am a former college athlete and a Biomedical Engineering graduate. I had an internship as an associate for a Medical Laser company after graduating from my bachelors and later joined a company distributor for GE and ABB industrial as a Project Manager trainee where I gained a lot of customer relationship building skills experience and an understanding of selling capital equipment.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

It all started with my passion for making a difference in people?s lives with a goal to get into the medical field especially coming from a family that struggled with knee issues. Competing in sports was the reason I realized that I needed a job that will allow me to use my competitiveness as well as have the opportunity to make a difference. I always had a dream of being part of the Operating Room team and being able to have an impact.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I came across an advertisement on a social media platform.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I had to take a leap of faith and get in because I knew I lacked a lot of information and skills that MSC was providing their students. I realized if I wanted to get into the industry, I would need to learn from people that were previously in the industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

The instructors were very experienced and they went over and beyond to provide all the information needed.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

I truly believe that MSC is a crucial step towards a career in the Medical Device Industry. Being surrounded with the best instructors that understand the industry makes the whole experience worth it. MSC provides a growth environment for people. Being surrounded by goal-oriented people, former athletes and hungry people built my drive.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn?t apply to a lot of jobs and that?s because I didn?t know how to locate the jobs that fit me.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I reached out to people on LinkedIn with the position that I wanted and started building relationship with them and from there I was referred by them. I was contacted by the manager that gave me an initial phone interview just to get to know me, then I interviewed with a recruiter for the Gallup, then I had a face to face interview with the manager. After that I was hired.

What is your current job like?

My job is customer focused with the goal to decrease the pre-operative interruptions by assisting in the operating room as well as the sterile processing department.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I knew how much growth I would gain from attending Medical Sales College. I would have gotten into it earlier.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Applying to a job positing is not enough. It takes a lot of networking and relationship building. It?s all about using LinkedIn the right way.
