Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I was an Exercise Science major looking to go to PT school. After shadowing quite a bit I started to realize I couldn?t be a PT the rest of my life and was scrambling for what I was going to do after graduation. I had a few friends in the industry who opened my eyes and I began researching.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
Few old college teammates brought it to my intention, one selling for Medtronic out west and another for Smith & Nephew. Speaking with them got my attention and I began looking into it more seriously and knew it was something I wanted to pursue.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Google search. I jumped into it quick, I found out I wanted to do medical sales, specifically medical device so it was really the best opportunity after carefully reading up on the program, including reading a lot of these testimonials.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I wanted to get into the industry quickly and didn?t want to waste anymore time to start my career. I spoke with several people from MSC, a big one being Kim Smalley and she was the deciding factor. She was so passionate and adamant about what the program was doing for so many people and it just got me excited.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
This program is the best and only option out there by far that will allow you the ability to get your foot in the door and taken seriously without that experience. What MSC does show is what it truly takes to make it in this industry and what it all entails. They give you a great intro into the anatomy, instruments and surgeries you?ll be seeing on a daily basis, while giving you access to a huge community of people that are like a family and want you to succeed.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
About a month before I applied to MSC, and I kept applying to jobs before I attended MSC the whole 3 months leading up to it. I heard a lot of, ?You just don?t have enough experience.? Or, ?try getting some B2B sales for a year or two.?
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
It?s a lot of the grunt work. Building sets back up, constantly studying product information (new and old) and learning surgeon preferences. Basically the ideal associate, while learning from one of the best reps for Globus and quickly learning why that is.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Honestly, nothing. I love what I do and I think MSC did a great job explaining what the life of a medical device sales rep is. I landed a job in spine because they taught me well on how to prepare and what is most important when interviewing, being yourself.
I can?t emphasize it enough when interviewing you should let your complete self show. At one point the person interviewing you was in your shoes. So, be yourself and it will either be a right fit or it won?t, and if it isn?t there will be one down the road trust me.
Feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn. I?m always looking to help anybody trying to get into this industry.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
That you can?t possibly know everything, and being able to realize that and own up to it when you might not know something is key. While also working hard to stay informed and gaining valuable knowledge every day.
