Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I am a recent graduate from the University of Memphis, where I pursued two degrees in accounting and musical theatre. While in college, I also worked full time as a gym manager, personal trainer, and group fitness instructor. Fitness introduced me to my love for the body and my passion for helping people discover ways to lead a healthy life.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I was introduced to medical sales early on because my best friend?s parents were sales reps and managers in the field. Fast forward to post-college life, and I was reintroduced to Orthopedic Device Sales by a personal training client. From there, my brain lit up and the rest is history!
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
A simple Google search led me to the MSC website, and in true Google fashion, I started seeing the ads every time I turned on my computer, so I decided to really check it out.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
At first, I was skeptical, but after talking with a few instructors and former students, I was reassured that MSC?s commitment to developing students with a strong, informational foundation was second to none. I took the leap of faith, and moved to Houston for 3 months.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
My training experience was different than I ever expected. The training I received in Biologics and Distal Extremities absolutely blew me away. I made some excellent connections with professors and students that I will carry throughout my career and into my personal life!
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I interviewed for one job with a leading sports medicine company. I actually progressed pretty far in their process, making it to the final round of candidacy with two other seasoned reps before the company went on a 5-month hiring freeze, ultimately hiring no one. In that time, I was eager to learn as much as possible, so I chose to spend the next 3 months investing in my future success in this field.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Simply immersing myself in the language of orthopedic devices and procedures helped equip me with a strong foundation and vocabulary to carry into the interview process. While I certainly did not learn everything, I learned more than enough to hold an effective and intelligent conversation with hiring managers and surgeons in the field. Likewise, I am also well prepared with a leg-up on the company provided training modules because of the foundation I built at MSC.
