Tell me a little about your background.

I worked in sales for years after graduating from Georgia State University in 2018. In 2019 I was hired as a Placement Services Coordinator for MSC and interned for a year while working from the Chicago, IL campus.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I've always wanted to be a part of the healthcare industry, but rather than taking the clinical route and becoming a nurse or a tech, a sales role made more sense for my personality. With experience working in sales coupled with my communication and relationship building skills, this was the perfect career for me.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Most of my friends that work in the medical sales industry were hired by device companies after their training at MSC. They gave me the idea to apply for the internship.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I knew the training would give me a foundation of knowledge needed for working in the industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I learned so much from my biologic instructors who have a ton of knowledge from experience working in the industry. I also worked with Dr. Perns out of the Chicago campus for a year during my internship. He helped train me to talk to surgeons and prepare me for the role as a sales rep. His knowledge and advice was invaluable and I was so lucky to be able to work along side him.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

You can never know too much or have all the answers. MSC training gave me a foundation of knowledge that's prepared me for a role as a sales rep in the medical device sales industry.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Less than 6 months.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

My soon-to-be boss reached out to me on LinkedIn because he saw I was looking for opportunities in the industry. Due to COVID-19 we weren't able to meet face to face until a few weeks ago. The interview was more of a get to know me conversation. He offered me the position that same night.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

You're never done learning and studying in this industry.
