Tell me a little about your background.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Neuroscience. I have worked in hospitals for a few years until I realized I wanted to become a Medical Device Sales Representative. I went to Medical Sales College and really enjoyed it!

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I have always been interested in the medical field and helping patients. I've had multiple jobs with direct patient contact but I felt like I needed to grow in a different area. That is when I felt like becoming a Medical Device Sales Rep would do just that. Not only can I still help patients better their lives, I can also learn the ins and outs of the medical device industry and work to help surgeons treat their patients better.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

LinkedIn.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I spoke to a few people who attended MSC and heard a lot of great things about it.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I had a great time at MSC. I knew a lot about biology but learning the biology behind certain devices really helped put everything into perspective.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

MSC teaches you a lot about the science behind the devices and also sales techniques that are used in the industry.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

7 months.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I had a brief phone call to talk about my background and then I interviewed at one of the hospitals and looked over devices. I was sure to keep in touch and about a week later I was offered the position.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Medical device sales is an extremely competitive industry and you have to work very hard to succeed.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The sales techniques, practicing sales pitches, and learning how to approach a surgeon with your device really helped me. Before MSC, I had no idea how to "sell" anything, let alone a medical device.
