Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from Spring Hill College with a Bachelor's of Science focused in Marketing and Management. I applied with a few medical device companies after graduating and was told I did not have enough experience. I decided to build on my Marketing and Management background and began working at a digital marketing company as an Account Manager. After a year and a half I decided to reapply to medical device companies and would make it to end of the interview process but they would move forward with more qualified candidates. I reached out to a family friend who has been in the industry for years and he recommended I apply to MSC. I thankfully got in and now I am starting my first job in the medical device industry!

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I like the idea of being a part of a team that is working to better a humans life.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Jay Pierce, three of his kids attended the school and all in the industry.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I got accepted after being denied from so many offers. It was the one yes in a sea of no's. I chose to take a leap of faith and go for it.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Well I was one of the classes that was in person and resulted online because of the pandemic. I think I learned most that the industry is constantly changing and I need to be ready to adapt quickly to any environment.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

I think if someone already has work experience or sales experience attending MSC would be great. That person would be adding to their resume and adding MSC as well as their previous work experience would make them a more qualified candidate than someone who just graduated college and is attending with no work experience. Personally, MSC allowed me to get my foot in the door. I was told by a few interviewers they liked that I invested in myself by attending especially since I had a steady job prior to attending.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Over a year

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I had a lunch interview with the two guys I would be working with. This lasted about an hour and a half. It was a relaxing interview and we were able to get to know each other as well as go over their expectations of me. The second interview was with their boss. I met him at his hotel lobby and we had coffee while he interviewed me. He went more in depth with the position. He asked me a few questions about my knowledge (thankfully I spoke with a doctor I know as well as Mark from MSC). I then was interviewed by his boss. This was a FaceTime interview and he asked me more questions of where I see myself in the future, why I would be a good asset to add to the team, why I want to work for Treace, etc. After his interview I was interviewed by HR. She had general questions but went into detail about the benefits and what I could expect. This whole process took about 6 weeks.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Preparation. During my interview process I trained myself and prepped. It was a part of the body I was not trained on so I used my resources. I looked up the procedure and scheduled meeting with an extremities professor from the school. I was able to walk my interviewer through the majority of the procedure.
