Tell me a little about your background.

Studied biotechnology while in college and have been in the hospitality industry since I was 16. Worked as reception at an Ortho office to gain experience before attending MSC.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I liked the idea of being on the road rather than being stuck behind a desk. I am a sociable person who loved learning about med sciences so I knew I would enjoy this job. Also the OR privileges without having to go to med school was pretty neat.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

While job searching for medical sales openings I ran across MSC

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

After a year of applying to positions and my application getting thrown into the black pit of lost and over looked resumes. I needed some experience that my resume was lacking.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Very helpful. The coursework was handy and gave me something to talk about in interviews.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If they do not have experience in the industry and are open for relocation. I felt that since I was not planning to move from SWFL it hindered my job search since I was in a smaller job site pool. If someone wants experience and is willing to go wherever the job wants them then MSC is right for them.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

About a year

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

Casual, at a coffee shop. Met with the head rep of the company, later met with other reps of the company. They asked me to shadow a surgeon to make sure i could handle the OR environment. Met the distributor. Offered the job.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I knew I was going to end up in biologics so I would have taken that course instead of the ORT. Also the LinkedIn trick to making connections.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Making connections on LinkedIn and reaching out to those connections to help find an open position.
