Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with an undergraduate degree in Health Science. I will be graduating soon with my Master's in Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport. I previously had customer sales experience through Disney and 3 years of sales experience with Enterprise.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I have always wanted to work in the medical field. Once I learned what the job consisted of, I knew I wanted to be in a position where I fuse my sales knowledge and the ability to be a part of changing a person's life in one of their most critical moments. I originally went to Enterprise to get B2B sales training, but I was always missing the clinical experience.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

After doing extensive research on the industry, I found MSC online about a year before deciding to enroll.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

After rehabbing a fractured femur and tibia, I personally knew what it felt like to be in the patient's shoes. I knew I wanted to help sell a product that helps the healing process. As soon as I got better, I decided to contact MSC to get more information and I instantly fell in love with their mission.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

It was a 12 week intensive training on Orthopedic Reconstruction and Trauma. To put it lightly, it is like drinking through a fire hose. I absolutely loved getting the hands-on surgical training and invaluable real-world advice from the instructors. The instructors are all extremely experienced and are fantastic resources.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

I think MSC is great for someone who really knows they want to be in the field, but doesn't have enough experience to break in. MSC will teach you medical terminology, company information, product information, and sales/networking. MSC will challenge you and prepare you for what it takes to get started in the industry.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

About a year.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

The interview process lasted about 2 weeks. I had 4 interviews all about 45 minutes each. I networked with the Distributor Principal on LinkedIn. The first interview with him was via phone. The second interview was with a sales rep and we conducted sales/rejection role plays. The third interview was with the Western US Regional Sales Manager. The final interview was with the Distributor Principal and consisted of writing 2 essays on assigned products.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I knew how invaluable the networking connections MSC provides are. I would have not been able to crack into the industry without them!

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable piece of information I learned was how preparation sets you apart. This is a field where you will need to constantly study and stay ahead on products and competition. I was able to use product profiling skills to help set me apart in the interview process.
