Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I am from Covington, Louisiana, and was raised by my two parents with my 5 brothers. Growing up as the only girl with 5 brothers certainly helped me to develop thick skin. Starting at a young age, I?ve been involved in competitive sports from gymnastics up to college where I was a collegiate cheerleader for both Louisiana State University and the University of Central Florida. After high school, I attended Louisiana State University to cheer there; I cheered for football, basketball, and gymnastics. I was also on the competitive team where we competed against all of the top colleges and was a brand ambassador for the school. Being an athlete shaped who I am today and helped me to develop the qualities needed to be successful in this industry. From team lifts at 5 A.M to 2-a-day nationals practices, it was always a team effort. I believe that my dedication, positive attitude, never-ending work ethic, excellent communication, and leadership skills are what helped me to positively attribute to every team I was on.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
For my degree program in college, I was required to complete three paid internships. I chose internships in different parts of the industry in order to create a more diverse portfolio. I loved my classes and had a lot of personal growth with each internship, but ultimately it was an industry that I enjoyed learning about, not necessarily something I wanted to make a career out of. I wanted more and I wanted a bigger challenge. From my past as a competitive athlete, I have been injured and put back together quite a few times and growing up with my dad in the medical field, healthcare has always been something I have been interested in which is why I ultimately chose medical device sales.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I learned about MSC through past students that attended.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I ultimately decided to attend MSC after I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in medical device sales. I began applying in early 2020 when COVID hit and ended my interview process. I knew that I had a lot to learn about the industry and had heard nothing but great things about MSC.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
The 440+ contact hour intense training at Medical Sales College comprising of classroom lectures and hands-on experience taught me so much about the industry. The training I received at MSC helped me to gain the confidence needed to succeed in sales and in the OR. I feel more confident now more than ever about starting a career in the Medical Device Sales industry.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
Less than 6 months.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
The most valuable thing I learned from MSC was how to prep for an interview. Along with this comes company research, and product/ surgeon profiling. My career development trainer was great!
