Michael Nugent
Vice President of Sports Medicine
Michael is a successful sales and marketing management leader with 20+ years in and around the Orthopedic Device space. He has seasoned experience in new business development, territory management, deal negotiations, new product introduction/training, and industry networking initiatives for manufacturers and distributors of medical devices. After playing college football, Michael joined the US Navy and became a Corpsman (Medic) in the Special Operations Community for 5 years.
Michael got his start selling Orthopedic Reconstruction and Trauma medical devices by Zimmer Orthopedics in San Diego, CA where he was selected as a visiting Sales Associate Trainer on Trauma and Reconstruction topics for new hires. From there, Michael transitioned to Tampa, FL for ConMed Corporation where he held a variety of leadership roles in sales, marketing and medical education. While at ConMed he also helped launch the Shoulder Restoration System globally and multiple new sports medicine devices.
He served as the Southern US Regional Manager for Small Bone Innovations (SBi) covering 14 states. After a prosperous sale of SBi to Stryker Orthopedics and staying on-board for 6 months to facilitate a successful transition, Michael decided to help start a Medical Device Startup ? Gramercy Extremity Orthopedics (GEO) where he held the role of Chief Revenue Officer.
Michael has decided to bring his decades of total joint, trauma, extremities, and sports medicine experience to Medical Sales College providing a high level of leadership and technical expertise to enrich student learning.
