Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I started out as an Audiology Major and was applying for graduate school when I learned about medical sales. I was told I would be good at it because I was good with people. I?ve always had a passion for health care and making a difference in the quality of peoples lives. Volunteering at special needs hospitals and working under audiologist at the local VA center, I was exposed to PT and OT because we were all in the same room. I was always catching myself looking over on their side and finding all the equipment and devices so fascinating and want to know more about them.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I found that I could benefit from always learning about different devices and being in the know when something new comes out. I enjoy being a part of a process that helps improve so many lives. The company I chose to work for specifically targets lowering the opioid crisis for pain management without the use of pain medications.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I first heard about MSC from an OBGYN I was working with at Lafayette General Hospital. She told me her niece attended the school and found a job right after graduating.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I knew medical sales was what I wanted to do as a career and I was having no luck applying for jobs without experience. I figured this would get me the experience and connections I needed to break into the field. I had no experience in sales so I figured going to a school that was specified in helping learn the anatomy and how to sell was the best option for me to reach my goal. I also wanted to be good at what I do and go into this career path knowing I did everything to better myself.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
My training experience was very helpful and educational. I know I wouldn?t have gotten the job I have now without attending MSC. There were specific things I took notes on about interviewing that I never would have known to prepare for had I not been told to.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I tried to break in for almost a year and a half.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
I wish I would have taken a public speaking class because I have a genuine fear of public speaking. Thankfully with the amount of times we had to present at MSC I became more comfortable.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
I would say the week Jim came in to talk to us about sales. I learned so much about the interview process as well as learning things about the job once we get hired. I also thought the role play was helpful. I?ve always had trouble getting to the point because I love to talk but doctors and professionals live fast so it?s good that I learned how to talk to them.
