Tell me a little about your background.

Went to PSU as a finance major and played Ice Hockey.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I liked the idea of using my personality for business and wanted to get into a high-paced industry where I wouldn?t be sitting behind a desk. It also correlated well with my background in sports and I?m a hard worker who wants to get paid for my extra efforts (commission).

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

My brother had attended MSC.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

My brother told me it was a great way to break into the industry without having the 2 yeas of sales experience.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I learned a lot about ortho recon and trauma as well as some of the products in each specialty. I got background on how to sell to surgeons and even did some saw bone labs to understand the surgeries. I got a ton of background on the industry as well as learned about biologics, the OR, and a basic understanding of the terminology.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

I think just learning the terminology was the most helpful for me. I was a finance major so the fact these companies saw I started to learn some of the information they were going to teach me, and that I picked up on it quickly, I think was helpful.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

To get a good baseline of what the industry is like and learn about some amazing products and how you may go about selling them. Also it is good to get brief understanding of the basic terminology used and how to conduct yourself with surgeons and in the OR.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn?t try prior to MSC.

Explain what your interview process was like.

I interviewed with a ton of companies across a lot of sectors to try and gauge where I wanted to be: Trauma, recon, sports med, and even wound care. I ultimately received 3 offers from some very good companies including Smith and Nephew, Arthrex, and Zimmer Biomet, who I am taking a job with.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I don?t think there?s anything I wish I knew before. It all ultimately led me to where I am today which I am extremely happy about. I didn?t try to get into the industry prior to MSC, but I trusted the process and I am very happy with the results!
