Tell me a little about your background.

Prior to MSC, I was working as a medical scribe in two inner city hospitals in the Emergency Department. I obtained my degree in Allied Health Science from The University of Connecticut in 2016.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

When working in the Emergency Department, I felt like I had a draw to medicine, but I was missing the competiveness that I had grown up with through competitive cheerleading and doing pageants. Upon further investigating the field of Medical Sales, this seemed like a natural fit for me.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Google! I wanted to know how to better further myself and found this program. After doing research and speaking with people who attended the program, it felt like a good fit.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I felt like this was something I could do to give me the competitive edge to break that barrier of experience most companies were asking for.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I loved every single minute of it! I had Tilden Register as my instructor and he provided me with so many useful tips and tricks to succeeding. Everyone at MSC wants you to succeed. If you truly indulge in this experience, it will be worth every penny. The classes are not easy, but it helped me developed study habits I carried over into my new position.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

Training at MSC taught me certain interview techniques and preparing for interviews that I would have never utilized had I not gone. Specifically, understanding certain laws/regulations as well as certain characteristics they look for in sales reps were able to help me gauge my responses.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

It is worth it! I gained such valuable information that I will apply daily to my job. The connections and friendships I made were amazing. This place helped me land my dream job and made me feel comfortable and confident in the interview process. This stepping stone will help you if you allow yourself to fully advantage of the knowledge and resources that MSC has to offer.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Prior to MSC, only a few months. It was discouraging because everyone wanted experience.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

Of course. This is a huge investment. Yes, I had spoken with people who went to the program, but I did not know anyone personally/directly who had gone.

Explain what your interview process was like.

Long! I had multiple people reach out to me from the recruiting website. I applied to multiple jobs as well. After multiple interviews with multiple companies, I found a company I truly feel like is a perfect fit for me.

What is your current job like?

I am currently a Sales Rep for Western Mass. with Paragon 28. I am in offices and the OR. I have been able to attend AOFAS conference in Boston with my company as well.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Honestly, every single question I had about workings of the Medical Device industry was answered at MSC. I did not hold back anything. I asked questions, and always got a great answer. If my instructors could not answer the question, they further investigated the question until I had an answer.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Understanding the ?who is who? in an OR and where things typically are in an OR from a Medical Device Sales perspective helped me navigate myself to find things. I have been in an OR in the past, but from a Device Rep perspective it is different. To expand on this, navigating myself in doctor?s office and carrying myself/finding the important people were something so simple, but so useful that I use daily.
