Tell me a little about your background.

I am a licensed/barred attorney who decided that the practice of law wasn't for me. I spent about 2 years at a tech startup wearing many hats that included a stint with a sales team. I loved sales but wanted to be more passionate about my industry. I have always been interested in healthcare and medicine so I decided to do some research surrounding the medical device sales industry where I came across MSC. After looking into the programs MSC offered and applying, I decided it was a great fit for me to gain some industry knowledge and jumpstart a new career path.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I believe that everyone can have a career that they love, are personally invested in, and that can contribute to society. Medical sales provides all those things for me. I find healthcare and medicine fascinating and I feel that the work I will be doing will impact the greater good.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I did a lot of personal research surrounding entrance into the Medical Device Sales world and stumbled upon MSC's website.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I decided that investing in myself for 3 months in exchange for entrance into a lifelong career was a risk worth taking.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I loved my time at MSC. The instructors were knowledgable, fun to work with, and committed to helping the students succeed not only in the program but in the industry. The training on spine/orthopedic/biologic implants and treatments was invaluable and I feel confident that I have a solid base of knowledge to succeed in my new role.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If you are interested in medical device sales, want to gain industry knowledge, and are ready to invest in yourself and your career you should absolutely attend MSC. It was well worth my twelve weeks.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn't try prior to attending MSC.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

My now current boss reached out to me via LinkedIn and asked if I was interested in chatting with him about a position. I said yes and sent him over my resume. We talked on the phone later that week and then he scheduled a video interview for me with his CTO. I did that interview the following week and then did another phone interview with the CEO, my current boss. I sent him some references and a few days later he called me and offered me a job/sent me an offer letter.

What is your current job like?

I am super new and have just started diving in so I am not entirely sure what my day-to-day will look like given that I am working at a startup.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I had no idea how large/vast the industry was before attending MSC.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

While interviewing for my current position, it was important that I had spine/orthopedic implant knowledge and could speak intelligently about products and related pathologies. Therefore, I would say that the product profiling/presentations specifically was the most valuable.
