Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from The University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor?s in Kinesiology initially going for physical therapy. I played sports my whole life and always knew I wanted to be in the medical field. Last year I switched gears from physical therapy to Medical Sales because I love how there are so many different opportunities with this career.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I was very interested in Medical Sales because I love being involved in the operating room, converting sales, building relationships, and the fact that the sky is the limit on how much money you can make. This is the perfect career for a person with good work ethic and where your hard work can truly pay off!

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned about Medical Sales College from the regional manager of the Spine company I was interviewing with. I had two interviews with him but did not make it to the final interview. He ended up hiring someone from Medical Sales College and told me that if I was serious about breaking into the medical field that I should check out MSC.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I decided to attend the college because in my heart I felt like this program was trustworthy and that it was exactly what I needed in order to land a job in the medical field. I needed to learn more about the field so I was more confident in my career decision.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

My experience once I began training with Medical Sales College was great; I had an amazing class and even better teacher (Rebecca)! There was a lot of information to learn in such a short period of time, but the way Rebecca taught the class made it fun and easy to retain it all. All of the little tips and tricks I learned are really going to help me succeed in my new position as a Territory Manager.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

I honestly used everything I learned from this program during my interview. I was confidently able to answer any type of question they threw my way. I showed them that I could talk the talk, have business plans, and how I profiled surgeons using MDReptrack. Interviewers need to know that you know the business but most importantly you need to sell yourself to them and demonstrate how hard you are going to work and how hungry you are to make a name for yourself!

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Someone should attend MSC because of the extensive training you receive. I could not imagine going into this field without having all of this knowledge. Because of this program I am going to be successful in my career!

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I tried to get into the industry for 3 months before finding out about Medical Sales College. I had a few phone interviews and then one interview with a Spine company where I met with him face to face. None of the positions moved forward with me because of my lack of experience.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

Yes I had a lot of fears attending MSC because I did not know anyone who had attended the program so I had to rely on people?s testimonials that I didn?t know. It?s a big risk quitting your job, moving to a new place, and paying the money up front for something that your not 100% sure about!

Explain what your interview process was like.

I interviewed with a variety of different companies before coming across the position I have today. Some companies have 7 rounds of interviews firing questions about your personality, work ethic, decision making and so on, while other companies just wanted me to give a background of my self. For the job I got I first had a phone interview to learn more about the position and for them to learn more about me. The second interview was an in person interview and they asked me about two pages of questions.

What is your current job like?

As an Extremities Territory Manager for Washington my job is to maintain current relationships and accounts and also build new business and relationships. I will continue to educate accounts, consult in the operating room, and address any problems that may arise

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Before attending this program I wish I knew that it would be worth it in the end and helped me get my dream job because I was very stressed when making the decision to go or not!

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The most valuable thing I learned at MSC was how to talk to surgeons and how important it is to build those relationships before trying to throw your product on them. Not only is it important to be confident in your product, but also the relationships you have with the surgeon and other hospital staff.
