Tell me a little about your background.

I have a background in hospitality and BS in nursing. I'm from Atlanta but I have lived in Orlando for about 4 years now.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

While I have a BS in nursing, I did not want to only be confined to bedside care only. With medical device sales, I am able to use the knowledge from my degree and combine it with my experiences in hospitality.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Through Google.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I wanted to leave the hospitality industry and find something that would be more stable.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I enjoyed my experience, my instructors, and my classmates. I learned a great deal of information not only about the anatomy of the body, certain pathologies, and what we do to treat them, but I also got to learn about the business side of everything (resume, linked in, how to properly network, etc).

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

I think it is great for someone who does not have any experience. It gets you up to speed with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology which is very helpful if you do not have a background in that. I think it definitely prepares you for the business and networking of the industry as well.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I didn't try prior to attending MSC.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

While it lasted over a month, I never talked about products with anyone until my last step in which they had me do a sales call. I got my first interview (with the regional manager) from messaging on linked in. From there, they had me do 2 product breakdowns, a sales pitch on one, presentation on another, and profile surgeons in what would be my territory. Then I interviewed with my now manager (once over the phone and then face to face) and he had me continue to complete surgeon profiles (while I completed my 40 profiles in my sports med class, this is a foot and ankle company so I had to start from scratch). After that, I interviewed with the VP of sales. Finally, my manager had me complete a sales call with a local doctor.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Preparation is key in everything that you do.
