Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Personal Health Studies major and a business minor. Because I knew I wanted to enter this career field, I took the biologics course at MSC while finishing my last semester of undergrad.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I had always been interested in the healthcare field, but after meeting a few people in this industry, I wanted to learn more about it. I decided this industry would be a great fit for me because of the competitive atmosphere, and the combination of science and building relationships.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Once I decided I wanted to pursue this career, I met with a man who has his own distributorship. He suggested that I would be a great candidate for MSC because it can supplement my lack of experience in the field.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I did some of my own research and talked to people from MSC to see if it was the right fit for me. After a lot of thinking, I decided I thought MSC was worth it for someone like me who had very little to no relevant experience in the industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

The course was very in depth and rigorous. I was honestly not expecting this course to be as thorough as it turned out to be. MSC really invests in each of their students to tries and make them the most competitive candidate they can be. They provide both ?textbook knowledge? about how products work, but also the real-world knowledge and industry tips that can only be gained from experienced instructors.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

You should attend MSC if you want to break into the industry but don?t really know where to start. The traditional way of searching for jobs and applying online doesn?t work for a lot of people, and MSC knows how to navigate the complicated system and prove to employers you are serious about these jobs.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

Because I was a full-time student still, I hadn?t been actively applying and seeking jobs. I did apply to a couple to see what would happen and I got rejected from both. Because of the people I had already talked to, I knew it would be almost impossible to get a job without MSC.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I had 3 interviews with different companies and they were all very different from each other. One company had a webchat interview where I was asked questions. Another company had a phone and in person interview. And the company I was hired by had a slightly more casual interview (but that is because I already knew them). Even though they were all different types of interviews, MSC had given us tips and strategies of how to be successful in all of those settings.

What is your current job like?

Right now I am working on getting all my credentials and studying resources they have given me so I can start next week.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

All the resources they give you will benefit you even after graduating from MSC. I have already had to reference the notes I took multiple times and I haven?t even officially started yet. I suggest students take really good notes, come up with an organization system they can continue even after graduating, and really listen to all the tips instructors give.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The sales experience is the aspect that I think will benefit me most in the long run. I had no previous sales experience and I know I wouldn?t have been successful if we didn?t do the role playing and practices of how to sell. Also, all the tips they gave on how to network effectively and make employers take you seriously.
