Tell me a little about your background.

I received my Bachelor of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology where I was a varsity athlete on the soccer team.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

The dynamic work environment of working with surgeons and hospital staff to help improve patients? lives with new technology and the kind of living you can earn drew me to this industry. I also know a few people currently working in the industry and observed the success they were having. This helped peak my interest.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned about Medical Sales College as I was researching how to break into the industry. It was being advertised as the quick way to break into the industry, even with no prior sales experience.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I wanted to break into the industry as soon as possible. After seeing the placement rate and the student testimonials, I was convinced it was a good investment, so I went for it.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

The Curriculum was organized in a manner that eased you into the learning experience, which helped make what is really a massive amount of information seem less daunting. The instructors were very friendly and helpful. They truly want you to succeed.

What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?

Being able to talk about specific products and describe them using medical terminology helped to impress the employers. Also, being able to show the employer surgeons that I profiled in the area definitely impressed them.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Attending Medical Sales College not only provided me with a foundation of knowledge that helped me hit the ground running, it helped confirm that this was the career path I wanted to pursue and motivated me to be the best rep I can be.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

While I was researching the industry, I was learning how it can be very difficult to break into the industry, especially without sales experience. I spoke with one person I knew in the industry and he recommended getting a sales job for a few years to build sales experience.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

I was a little nervous because I didn?t know what to expect but the instructors were very friendly and helpful from day one.

Explain what your interview process was like.

I applied to about 15-20 jobs in the central Virginia area and received two job interviews within the first week of applying. Within about 3 weeks, I received a job offer. The interviews ranged from informal phone calls to HireVue interviews to formal in-person interviews.

What is your current job like?

I work for a small distributor that represents companies that are typically small in stature but bring leading edge technology and valuable solutions to clinical issues. The company distributes a wide variety of products including orthopedic implants, instrumentation, biologics, capital equipment and therapeutic devices.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

To be honest, I wouldn?t change a thing when it comes to my experiences leading up to and including Medical Sales College.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

I had no medical background prior to Medical Sales College so I find the foundation of knowledge on anatomy, pathology and medical terminology to be extremely useful every day. However, I think the insight on how to speak with surgeons was the most valuable piece of information I learned.
