Tell me a little about your background.

I have a bachelors degree in Business from Notre Dame College. At 16 I was a lead generator for a home remodeling company called Rebath. I eventually moved up becoming an associate sales rep, then moved into a senior sales role. I moved to San Diego full time and started at the bottom with a new franchise getting promoted in my first week. I spent a few more years with the company before deciding to open a barbershop on the beach. After a couple years I realized the barbershop was not financially satisfying me so I started applying for medical sales jobs. I realized quickly how hard it was to break into the industry. I have a cousin in the industry and she recommended I go to Medical Sales College. It was the best decision I have ever made. I graduated from the 6-Week Orthopaeidc Extremities program. After completing the program I started getting considered by medical device companies. I am now a senior sales specialist with Arthrosurface. The college prepared me for entire process and what to expect in the field.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

Helping people is important to me and so is being financially happy. I enjoy competing at the highest level and medical sales to me is the highest level of sales. I was drawn to the industry by connecting with others in the industry and seeing their passion.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

My cousin Stacy Suhay suggested the college to me.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

After speaking with everyone involved in the acceptance process and past students I felt comfortable taking the leap of faith and attending.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Someone should attend MSC because they give you the tools you need to break into the industry. They have a proven method and it works.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I tried to break in the industry for about 6 months before attending the college. My experience was limited, mostly not getting responses or emails saying at this time you are not the candidate we are looking for. I did get deep into some interviews and then being told I needed a better understanding of anatomy.

Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?

Yes, my fears were not going to get a job, or it would take years for me to get a job.

Explain what your interview process was like.

The interview process was different for every company. The company I am with currently was a three interview process, a phone interview, in person, and a final in person.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

I cannot just pick one valuable thing that I learned at the college. Every day of learning was valuable. If I had to pick one thing, they prepare you for long days and hard work.
