Tell me a little about your background.

Temple University alumni, former bartender and Uber driver who wanted to make a change from just having a job to starting a career.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

My sister was a former device rep with Boston Scientific and my father was a former VP of sales, so it was and industry and occupation I was familiar with.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Online.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I wanted to invest in myself and have a background of information relative to the industry, as well as put something on my resume that was relevant to trying to become a rep.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

It was a way to familiarize myself with vocabulary, instrumentation, hospital procedures, and basic surgeries, as well as a way to make connections with others who were in the industry.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If they have no previous experience in the industry or sales experience it is way for them to achieve both.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I had a first interview in which I was asked to breakdown a total knee system from DJO. Then I met with an associate rep and had a second interview and processed some trays in SPD. Then I met with a senior rep for a third interview. I reviewed some x-rays as well as the cases that he had to cover for the following week. Finally, I had to give a presentation in front of the entire team discussing an article that was published comparing a dual-pivot total knee system to a traditional non-conforming knee system.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

That making connections is vital and that its okay to not start in a full rep position.
