Tell me a little about your background.

I completed my undergraduate from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in biology. I have worked in the clinical field shortly after college. But I have also worked in the device industry for several years with Medline Industries. I wanted to develop my career by gaining more sales experience and get a position as medical device sales rep.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

Having extensive years of clinical experience, I wanted to develop my sales skills to incorporate both and work as a rep. Since I also have a science background, I was interested in learning about different medical procedures and products. I also was interested in having OR experience.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I learned about MSC through online search and advertisements.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

Doing more research on the offered programs and placement success rates definitely helped me decide to attend.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Very fast paced but comprehensive enough to prepare me for the job as a rep. I had the pleasure of learning from great instructors and very much enjoyed learning with my classmates.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

To get the necessary preparation for the device industry. While having sales experience does help land a position, it is also important to know the science and terminology that is required to interact with surgeons and surgical staff. And MSC will provide students with the necessary knowledge to prepare for the industry.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I have already been working within the industry for more than 3 years (Medline Renewal-Medline Industries) but not in direct sales.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

It was fairly simple; I met up with my trainer and discussed my background with my current employer Medline. We discussed about MSC and I talked to her about some of their products that were interesting to me.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I would have taken some b2b sales training course just to further improve my sales skills and incorporate it with the training from MSC.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Learning about the company and doing some product analysis prior to the interview process.
