Tell me a little about your background.

I have a background in personal training and a bachelors degree in exercise science and a masters in health administration. I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field, but what that looked like was unclear to me until I discovered medical sales and Medical Sales College. The course gave me a little taste of the industry in different specialties, and prepared me for my interviews and first year on the job!

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I wanted to help people and I also wanted a job that rewarded me for my performance. Medical sales combined those for me, and I found areas of medical sales that I'm truly passionate about!

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

An ad popped up on my job search in College Station and Austin. I then found the website and LinkedIn page and spoke with some graduates.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I wasn't happy where I was at in my life and knew I needed to make the financial investment in myself and gain some experience and confidence before interviewing again.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

My class was during Covid-19 so 8 weeks were online and 4 weeks in person. It wasn't easy doing it mostly online, but it was still a great experience learning! We made up the labs when we got to campus.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Get the technical knowledge and advice for how to handle yourself in the industry. Everything from how to interview and talk to people on LinkedIn, to setting real expectations for the job roles and compensation. It definitely gave me a leg up on the competition!

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

About a year

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I started posting on LinkedIn the last few weeks of school and reaching out to people in the industry in my desired location with a personal introduction. I had a few phone conversations and the company that hired me saw my graduation post about getting MVP and reached out to me. I had submitted some job applications, but got absolutely no where with them. When my zero fee profile launched I had more companies reach out to me. I formally interviewed with 3 companies, and had 2 job offers to choose from.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I knew about this school sooner! I also wish I knew more about biologics and the different specialties.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

You can have all the tools and support in the world, but if you don't put the effort and work in yourself, you won't be successful.
