Tell me a little about your background.

Two previous sales jobs. One doing inside sales and one doing outside sales. Neither involved medical devices.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

My background in undergraduate was biology pre-med track, but I didn't feel that med school was the route I wanted to go. Medical sales was a good blend of medicine and business for me.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Online.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

Knowing the curriculum would help me build a foundation to enter into the medical sales industry, and the fact that the Chicago campus was taught by a former surgeon

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I think the best take away from MSC was learning from Dr. Perns at the Chicago campus. To have a former surgeon and respected surgeon not only teach you the anatomy, biology, pathology, and bio-mechanics, but also to guide you on what successful reps he worked with did was an invaluable experience.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If they don't have the background and knowledge of things like biology, anatomy, bio- mechanics, or selling, its a good way to build up a foundation to make you more competitive in the job market.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

Phone interview with a recruiter, taking a personality test, two in person interviews with the hiring manager and a panel, and a phone interview with the director.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

That you have to hunt for your own food. I did my own networking, my own cold emails, and my own job applications to land my dream job. I think too many people that go to MSC rely too heavily on people to do that for them after they graduate. I think that properly explaining what connections MSC has, and what the placement process will be helps situate graduates and sets more realistic expectations.
