Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I came to the US on a D1 Track/Running Scholarship. Received my Degree in Pre/Physical Therapy. Owned my business in personal training and coaching soccer at Club and High School levels.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I was looking for a career involved in healthcare and sales. I was recommended to attend additional medical device training prior to trying to get a Device Sales job, so I stumbled upon Medical Sales College
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
Online Research
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
Both the connections to be made and the assistance in the recruiting process were the biggest selling points for me.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
Intensive training on all aspects of the industry. There is such a steep learning curve and once hired we are expected to excel, so its vital that all that course work was thrust upon us.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
Product presentations in class were crucial for me, speaking to key points, features and surgeon benefits showed them that I was ready to take a territory immediately and start making sales for them. I studied for days on products, the company history, revenues, growth and projections so I would be ready for anything.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
It really shows employers your commitment to the industry and that you have a solid understanding of what the job entails. Having professors like DC and Theresa to have your back and get you into these job interviews.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I came strait from my own coaching/training business to the Medical Sales College.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
After meeting with a member of the Admissions Department, I was very confident this was the right step for me.
Explain what your interview process was like.
I interviewed with many companies, Athrosurface, Orthofix, Stryker, Acumed, Smith & Nephew, Intuitive Surgical, Synthes and Zimmer Biomet. I interviewed well with all of them and received multiple offers, so I know the experience at Medical Sales College placed me above some of the other applicants. The process lasted 3months and I must have interviewed 5-6x with Smith & Nephew before I was offered the position
What is your current job like?
I am an ASR with Smith & Nephew in Denver. Working with a fantastic 2-man team, attending surgeries the 2nd week on the job, running trays, a lot of driving.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Your job offer will come from your commitment to networking and studying everything about a company?s products and being able to present it precisely. Nothing will be handed to you just because you went to MSC for training, it is up to you to make it happen.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
I value the background/base knowledge in TRAUMA training from DC Hoffman. Without that I would be a long way back in the education and I likely would not be able to be in the OR covering cases without it.
