Tell me a little about your background.

I grew up in a small town called Ida in the middle of nowhere Michigan. I was a competitive athlete through high school and college and always had a drive to win. I worked blue collar jobs all throughout school and was used to working hard for a living. I had a lot of fun hobbies including fishing, skiing, boating and a bunch others but I really wanted to take a deeper dive in my career.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

It?s hard work, it?s a grind (from the few days and months I have been doing it). I wanted this life though, I like to work hard.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

My neighbor who worked for Stryker mentioned it to me.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I did not have a more desired career path other than medical sales, it is the only thing I wanted to do. It was the right decision for me because I know I had the work ethic and drive to be great.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I knew nothing about anatomy, procedures, operating rooms, or anything really concerning everything you?re going to need to know in medical sales. I?ll say this, I am definitely not a doctor, or the smartest guy out there, but the amount I learned in twelve weeks was unbelievable.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

You will get a job. A good one. Only do it if you?re committed and have the grit and grind, otherwise you will sink and not swim.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

I reached out to several employers via LinkedIn on the last week of class and had several interviews lined up. Some backed out but I ultimately landed a job 3 days after graduation with the best company in America (obviously that?s my personal opinion)!

What is your current job like?

Medical sales is a grind. I just started but I am definitely at the bottom of the totem pole. You will think you know a lot coming out of Medical Sales College or you may think you know a lot now, but to be able to educate surgeons takes a lot of additional learning and hard work. If you have a good work ethic and passion for this industry you will succeed in the long run, I can tell by my managers and peers success. Everyone knows it, they just weed out the weak.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I honestly appreciate everything MSC has taught me and humbled to be where I am at today. For me, I landed my dream job and without MSC on my resume or the knowledge they helped me obtain I would not be where I am today.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

You will constantly need to learn in this industry. Always be focused on making yourself smarter and being able to educate yourself about medical devices, journal articles, procedures, hospitals, etc. That is how to make money.
