Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
I am a recent college graduate and have been a chiropractic assistant for the last nine months.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
My mom works in materials management at a hospital and is around many of the medical sales reps. She told me about their job and it really interested me. I have wanted to be in medical sales and in the OR for a long time. I also know a friend in the industry who encouraged me to look at a career in this field.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
This was a career I really wanted, and after the spine sales manager told me that attending MSC was the best way to get into the industry, I was sold. I went on his advice and was excited about the school from the start.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
I started with 6-weeks at home study which I liked, but I did find it difficult to learn on-line. When I came to Denver for the on-campus instruction, it didn?t take long to get up to speed. The trainer was fantastic. I felt like I learned more in the month in Denver than what I learned in a year in college. It was intense and hard, but it definitely prepares you for a career. I loved every second of my time in Denver at training. I have no regrets at all about attending MSC.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
Knowing the terminology. Knowing the procedures and being able to have a conversation about them. Being able to speak the language. Not looking like a ?newbie? in front of the hiring manager.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
The education and confidence that they?ll gain is tremendous. If you?re not confident about the job and the industry you will not get the job.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I had sent my resume to several different companies and finally spoke to a manager at a spine company who told me to attend MSC. He convinced me that attending MSC was the right thing to do.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
I had no concerns. I saw the student?s placement rate and knew I?d be one of the success stories.
Explain what your interview process was like.
I had a phone interview a week before graduation. I had a good conversation about the products the company sold. I put together a sales portfolio packet that was customized for the company. I learned this at MSC and the manager was blown away. It showed him that I was thorough, organized, and prepared.
What is your current job like?
Just started ? excited about it!
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Resume building and interview preparation. Interviewing skills were very helpful giving me confidence to nail the interview.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
My trainer was amazing and she preached it was a 5am to 9pm job. You need to be very disciplined and proactive to grow the territory.
