Tell me a little about your background.
My background was in financial sales.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I had tried to get in the industry a few years prior to attending MSC. During that time I was told time and time again that I needed more experience. Someone in the industry told me that if I was serious about medical sales I should consider Medical Sales College. After pursuing other careers I eventually got tired of what I was doing and decided to really commit. I talked to my friend who had attended MSC and that ultimately made my decision.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
The DPS sales training helped me a lot. Being able to show the hiring manager, physician profiles, etc. and just knowing how to direct the conversation was very useful.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
If you want to get into medical sales, MSC is pretty much the only way in. Without any other experience hiring managers won?t even take a look at you. Being able to tell a hiring manager that you are so dedicated to getting in this industry that you invested your own time and money to get trained speaks volumes. During my interview process the hiring manager was extremely impressed by the investment I made to get into this career and it?s what ultimately got me the job.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I had tried to get into the industry for about 5 years. Everyone, hiring managers, recruiters and so on, kept telling me I needed more experience.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
No, I had a friend that had attended the school about two years prior, so I called him up and after talking to him felt confident in my decision to go to the school.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Everything. The job I currently have is not what I studied while at MSC, but I was able to apply everything I learned to this new job. I knew how to research procedures and surgeons and that has made me successful in this position.
