Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from IUPUI with bachelors in Health Sciences. Then, accepted a job in my hometown as a surgery scheduler.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I worked with Medical Sales Reps everyday at my job and got to see a little of what their life style was like and was able to learn from them what exactly they did. I was instantly interested and had the chance to shadow in on multiple surgeries where I fell in love with everything about surgery and the OR.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I started asking around and talking to reps and one of them told me about his time at MSC and that I should look into it, so I did.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

Besides obviously wanting to learn more about the ins and outs of being a medical sales device rep.. I figured with my background and having no sales experience, this would be the best move I could make to help employers see that I was serious, determined, and motivated to get into this industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

I think MSC did a great job of hitting every part of being a rep. From the learning the anatomy, procedures, techniques, cold/short/long calls, sterility, presentations, first hand surgery experience, sales week, interviewing tips, swats, role play, saw bone labs, etc.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

It helps build a foundation of what you would need to know. Still going to be a huge learning curve once hired, but at least you wont be completely clueless.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

It is a very drug out process. You might make it through one round then will have to wait up to a month sometimes for the next round. It takes time, and patience is key. Trust the process.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

Before attending MSC I wish I would have known more about the sales aspect of the industry. That is what I was most uncomfortable with because it was foreign. MSC helped to break that shell and gave me the resources needed to overcome that uncomfortable feeling of selling product. Soon it?ll hopefully be second nature with more experience under my belt.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

I think what helped me land this job was my ability to relate and speak educated on the subjects we talked about in my interview, as well as having the understanding of what I would be asked of in interviews. Having even a small background or foundation on what they are needing can take you a long ways.
