Student Testimonials

Tell me a little about your background.
Got my BS at CU Boulder in integrative physiology, worked post grad for 2 years with an interventional cardiologist as a clinical specialist getting exposure to medical devices in the cath lab, wanted to pursue a career in this so I made the decision to attend MSC as I was not having much luck getting into the industry.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
(see above) I wanted to be involved in surgery, I got some great exposure early on after graduation so I decided to pursue a career in medical device sales.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I had a friend complete the course 2 weeks prior to me deciding to pursue.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
My friend completed it and got several job offers.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
Everything was great, very well-organized teacher (Rebecca) very knowledgeable, everyone had years and years of experience in the field. I really enjoyed it.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
Using MDrepTrack and the 30-60-90 business plan was a huge ?wow? factor. They were beyond impressed by these. Besides that, being able to speak the ?language? during the interview process was great, they know I was coming in already prepared and that impressed them.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
For about a year, with no luck prior to MSC. I applied to about 20 plus jobs, had a few final round interviews but in the end they went with people who had more sales experience.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
Finding a job after completing the course.
Explain what your interview process was like.
My job is out of state so I had several phone interviews. 3 before I even met anyone face to face. Once I had these I met the district manager of CO first, she and I had a very nice lunch, spoke for several hours actually, and then immediately after I got a call from my manager in NYC. He said he was very impressed by what the CO manager had to say, he then flew me out to NYC the following week, on the company, I interviewed with him and 4 others on the team, it went well, as soon as I left I thanked everyone and got a call immediately offering me the position.
What is your current job like?
I am currently a case specialist in the NYC region. I work with the sales reps (team of 9 others) to cover cases, look for sales leads, etc.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Literally everything. After completing this program, I now understand why I was not able to get my foot in the door initially. The tools that MSC gives you to interview well really blows others out of the water and sets you up to be successful.
