Tell me a little about your background.

For 17 years of my life I played sports. That was my passion growing up while earning a scholarship to play college baseball. When that ended for me I went into the sales and finance industry. Between the years of sports and Medical Sales College I didn't really know what I wanted to do because I invested all of my time into baseball. I got to a certain point of my life that I needed to make a change and focus on my future. I went to become a surgical tech and became a National Student Rep of all surgical techs in the country and told myself that I want more. While I was in externships, I had spoken to several people in the medical device industry and wanted to know what I could do to become a sales rep. That is when I came across Medical Sales College. I attended the 8 week orthopedic reconstruction/Trauma program and it taught me what I needed to know to get my foot in the door and to get in front of people who have been in the field for a while.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

To break into the medical device industry.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Online.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I felt like it was my best option to pursue a career in the medical device industry.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

Training was a big help. It taught me how to make short product calls, long product calls, product presentations, learning how to read x-rays, doing roll play, and just being around knowledgeable people who have been in the industry for a very long time. Tom Lee did a very good job with the sales week. Broke it all down as specifically as possible. Andrea Molinaro was very knowledgable about biologics. Tilden Register did a very good job on staying on top of the information and teaching us the basics and telling stories of what it is like to be in the industry. Thanks to Jim Rogers for coming up with the idea of MSC to help people such as myself to pursue their dreams. Taylor Blohm was a very big help. She is very knowledgable and is a very hard worker. Anything anyone needed she was always there to assist them no matter what the situation was.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

Attending Medical Sales College gives you a leg up in the competition when it comes to finding a job. Also, companies like when a person goes out of their way to invest in their future.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

When I started pursuing I came across MSC and went through the process and got accepted.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

Every company did them very similar. Started off with a phone interview, in person interview, final interview, and ride alongs. The most important piece of information that I learned was persistence. Company likes an interviewee who really wants the job.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wouldn't change anything about the process.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

Stay humble, patient, and persistent.
