Tell me a little about your background.
Recent college graduate (May 2017) ? Bachelor?s degree in Health Administration
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
After college I wanted to pursue my healthcare career so I researched my options and spent time talking to my uncle who is an orthopedic spine surgeon. I enjoy working with medical professionals and spending time in the OR. I knew this industry was a perfect opportunity for just that.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I was referred by friends who had went through the program.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
Most medical device sales positions require a minimum sales experience of two years. Without having any prior sales experience, I thought this would be my best option.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
I was confident in my decision the first day the program began. My Spine instructor was phenomenal and my classmates all had impressive backgrounds and were driven to succeed. I knew I was in the right place.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
Being able to have a knowledgeable conversation about the rep?s responsibilities and expectations is huge and the main reason I believe I landed the position.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I knew how hard it was to break into the industry, especially with no experience. I wanted to gain a foundation in sales first, so I went straight to MSC after graduation.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
No, I received a lot of positive feedback about the school and its? success. I was confident in the program.
Explain what your interview process was like.
The interview process was intense and each interview was different from the next. We touched on personality traits, work ethic, along with basic OR protocol, the reps role in the OR, and sales techniques.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
The most valuable thing to me was surgeon/product profiling and the importance of being an expert in order to make the sale.
