Tell me a little about your background.

I graduated from the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2016. Throughout college and up until I landed my job with Camber I worked in the hospitality industry, mostly bartending. I enjoy the constant interactions with individuals as well as the fast-pace environment that industry affords, yet I was looking to find a career that proved more challenging, stimulating, and rewarding. I always took an interest in the sciences, leading to my past internship at a cancer genetics clinic. That was my first experience in a hospital environment and I vowed to not make it my last. I am beyond excited to embark on a career path that not only aligns with my interests and strengths, but will challenge me every day to work hard to not only drive revenue, but to also earn and maintain my role within the OR.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

This industry intrigues me because of the fact that my success is truly dependent upon my own exertions, and as a tenacious, highly motivated individual, I feel this industry serves as a genuine opportunity for me to capitalize on. Additionally, I appreciate that this job is not based around a mundane routine, but instead leads for a life where each day proves different from the last. Lastly, I look forward to the opportunity to serve within the OR, for being able to perform my duty to assist as a player within the room is an honorable, fascinating experience.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

I initially saw the post for the MSC internship when searching online for jobs. A few days later while scrolling through social media, I noticed that an acquaintance I met in college had actually attended MSC post-grad. I spoke to him about his thoughts on the program as well as his personal experience, and after hearing his pitch, I realized that MSC was the next step for me.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

I was unhappy with where I was in my life professionally and was ready to jumpstart a career for myself. I took a huge risk, being that at the time I was a bartender in the middle of a pandemic (in other words, I had virtually no source of income), but the risk was definitely worth taking for now I'm launching my career as a device rep!

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

MSC truly opens doors. It bestows you with the knowledge and skill-set you need to engage with professionals in a competent and confident manner. Additionally, it enhances your network and ability to do such, increasing your odds for opportunity. Regardless of this, at the end of the day you must be a driven individual and prepared to expend all of your energy on this endeavor otherwise you'd be wasting your time. The school does not hand you a job, nor should it. It is your choice to capitalize on this opportunity and utilize what it has to offer to create your own success!

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

I applied to one or two jobs directly out college, but at the time nothing seriously. Other than that I didn't try prior to attending MSC.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

My interview process was untraditional, in the sense that I never sat down for formal interviews. Instead, I met with two different surgeons who were KOLs for the company. I believe the whole sequence of events was my interview, beginning from how proactive I was/my initiative to set up these meetings, how I articulated myself within these meetings, and my ability to close these doctors. With the first surgeon I met with, I asked for a shadowing opportunity where I was further assessed throughout the day--not necessarily through standard questioning, but more so I believe on my character and behavior in the OR setting.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

I wish I would have learned about MSC sooner!

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

I believe having in-depth knowledge of the procedures and products allowed me to excel throughout this process as I was able to generate intelligent, genuine questions and engage in conversation with professionals in their language. Additionally, the school really emphasized how important it is in closing to ask for something/confirm a follow-up whether it be securing another meeting, a shadowing opportunity, addressing how you will contact them, etc. This to me has been crucial in stringing along a sequence of events that ended up being my interview process.
