Tell me a little about your background.
I studied Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida. A!er completing a marketing and sales internship with a medical device company overseas, I realized my passion for medical device sales.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I have a few family friends that are medical sales reps for different companies. A!er speaking with them I knew this would be a career I would enjoy and would be good at.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I learned of MSC through a Zimmer Dental rep that my father works with.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I knew that I would be able to increase my chances of breaking into the industry with this type of experience.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
Intimate. I was in a small class that was eager to learn with an incredible instructor who loved what he did. Couldn?t have had a better experience.
What is the most valuable piece of information that you learned while attending MSC which ultimately helped you land your position?
I was able to demonstrate my knowledge of the lifestyle this industry requires. I showed them I was not afraid to ask, whether its for the job or for their business. I was able to demonstrate how one uses features and benefits to engage a customer in a conversation.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
This training program puts you ahead of anyone else that is currently in the industry or trying to break in.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I had tried to get into medical sales a little less than a year, but wasn?t having any luck. Without any sales experience or training no one would consider me.
Did you have any fears about attending the School? What were they?
None.
Explain what your interview process was like.
Long! I networked and connected with a former MSC graduate who forwarded my name to his territory manager. This manager then forwarded my resume on to the Director of Sales. A!er about 5 phone interviews, and a Skype interview to pitch a product, I was invited to a ride-along and interview with my now current manager
What will you do in your new job?
I will be working in the OR covering existing cases as well as selling and growing my own territory. I am also responsible for managing inventory.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Confidence! MSC instilled the confidence in me to not only land the job, but to be successful in my new career. Prepare for everything.
