Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I had always been interested in medical sales but became interested in orthopedics after I got hurt and learned more about medical devices.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I worked with a former student who had recently gotten a job through the school so I contacted her and asked her about her experience.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I wanted to make orthopedics my career and after speaking to multiple people about the school, I decided this was the route I needed to take to break into the market.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
We covered many subjects including reconstruction of major joints, biologics, and fracture management. Our instructor used many tools and visual aids to help us soak up the information such as saw bone labs, X-ray?s, and multiple in-service projects for multiple products. This type of hands on learning helped me soak in this critical information and be able to use it when I got to the interview stage after MSC.
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
1 year.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
What is your current job like?
I transport a lot of trays and implants at the moment, I?m still learning the systems and trying to become an expert like my peers. They have a unique training model where at 6 month you go to the 101 training class for tornier/wright medical and then you are about to cover cases by yourself and interact with surgeons. After another 6 months you go to the 201 course and make more money/ transition you into a full sales rep.
What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?
Nothing, MSC Taught me a lot about the industry and I?m able to use this knowledge everyday at work. It?s a constantly growing industry and the Medical Sales College gave me the foundation to become successful.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
Persistence Is key and hiring managers LOVE the knowledge you bring to the table. They also love it when you put it in the business plan and show off what you know about their products and procedures.
