Tell me a little about your background.

I was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. Former student-athlete. Received my Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from Kent State University in May of 2019.

Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?

I?ve always wanted to be in the medical field. I was initially a pre-med student for 3 years until the realities of that path set in. I ultimately felt medical sales would be a unique way to break into the industry. It is a very dynamic and fast-paced career & I tend to perform my best in high-pressure environments due to my competitive nature. I enjoy working with a multitude of personalities and needs. This career is the perfect combination of possessing high intellect and interpersonal skills.

How did you learn about Medical Sales College?

Online.

What ultimately made you decide to attend?

A trusted friend of mine that I graduated high school and college with attended one of the programs. She shared her phenomenal experience with me, ultimately leading to me pulling the trigger.

Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.

It was very intense but extremely rewarding. Early mornings and long days. Hardest I?ve ever worked in my entire life but an absolutely necessary experience if you are serious about entering the industry.

Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?

If you are truly serious about breaking into this industry and have no experience like myself, MSC is the perfect route. It will equip you with the necessary industry knowledge and experience, allowing you to stand out above many other candidates.

How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?

3 months with absolutely zero chance of landing interviews due to my lack of experience.

Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.

Initially started off very slow due to graduating the program around the holidays. Picked up around mid-January and interviewed all of February. Received two offers in the beginning of March. Smith & Nephew started out as a phone interview with a sports med rep, followed by a sit-down with him and a trauma rep, allowing me to sort of apply for two positions at once. I then went through a Facetime interview with the trauma rep doing a sales pitch on their top product. I then had a sit-down interview with the Area VP and Director of Sales followed by a lunch with the two reps I?d be working with. A few days later received the offer over the phone.

What do you know now that you wish you had known before entering the industry/attending Medical Sales College?

The level of commitment and sacrifices you have to make in order to succeed in this industry. It is a lifestyle.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?

The interview process. Also learning how to break down products into key features, benefits, and values along with sales presentation techniques.
