Tell me a little about your background.
I am a recent college graduate from Arizona State University with sales experience.
Why were you interested in pursuing medical sales as a career?
I come from a medical family and enjoy sales. I have been interested in the medical sales career since I was in high school.
How did you learn about Medical Sales College?
I was referred by an employer in the industry.
What ultimately made you decide to attend?
I needed to boost my resume with experiences that were more relevant to the medical sales industry.
Please describe your training experience at Medical Sales College.
It was great! I learned more about the medical sales industry than I ever thought I would. I enjoyed all my classes and trainers who gave very unique insight/advice from their own experiences in the medical sales industry. I also met some incredible people and still keep in touch with my classmates as we begin our careers.
Describe your experience with Dynamic Consultative Sales training.
My sales trainer was a great teacher and mentor. She taught me about the art of selling, and especially how to sell to doctors. She provided me with advice as to how to prepare for the interview process, which ultimately helped me land the job with Globus Medical because I was offered the job a few days after my in-person interview.
Describe your Career Development training experience.
My Senior Director of Career Development was great and gave us a lot of advice on money and how we should be hunting for jobs. He is extremely knowledgable in the interview/hiring process and I would not have gotten a job without his business plan lecture.
Being a recent college graduate, how did MSC help you to prepare to enter the professional workforce?
Attending Medical Sales College prepared me for everything. What my role in the operating room is. How to speak with surgeons and the OR personnel. How to look at my company's products as well as competitor products. How to interview. How to sell medical devices. MSC gave me the tools I needed to obtain a job in the medical sales industry as well as allowed me to be confident in the OR.
What made you choose to invest in more education by attending MSC after just recently graduating college?
I wanted to get into the medical device industry and this course seemed perfect for gaining more education and experience, especially during the pandemic. I wanted to make myself more marketable to hiring managers, which is what MSC did for me!
Why should someone attend Medical Sales College?
Someone should attend Medical Sales College to gain relevant knowledge about the medical sales industry as a whole. Attending Medical Sales College provides a great resume booster that will catch hiring managers eyes, giving you a chance to show off your knowledge and charisma during an interview.
How long did you try to get into the industry before attending MSC? What was that experience like?
I tried to break into the industry for 4 months. It was hard because I did not have a medical or science background. Even with my sales experience I was being overlooked.
Please briefly explain your job interview process with your hiring company.
The territory manager I was in contact with informed me that the VP of Sales and Area Coordinator for the West Coast was going to be in town for one day and wanted to meet potential candidates. I created a business plan/territory breakdown tailored to the Arizona Trauma market and had it spiral bound/printed. I came to the interview with a suit, fresh haircut, and 4 copies of the business plan. My interview was unconventional, more conversational and getting to know each other. Walked about Globus, Medical Sales College, sports, families, past work history, life experiences and trauma. The territory manager came into the interview about 2/3rds of the way in and I luckily had an extra copy of the business plan. After about 2 hours of interviewing, I tried to close and they said, "we will let you know after we discuss amongst ourselves." I left my business plans with them and went home. Less than a week later, the VP called me and offered me the job. I started working a week later.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at Medical Sales College/What piece of training do you use the most in your day-to-day activities?
The most valuable piece of information I learned was to make a business plan. I learned how to wow the hiring managers and separate myself from other candidates through hours of practice and preparation.
